Preaching and teaching Christ crucified for the forgiveness of sins

What we believe

We believe that…

Jesus was born into the world through the virgin Mary

He lived a perfect life while here on Earth

He died as the payment for all of our sins

He rose again to assure us that death and sin have been defeated

He ascended back into heaven to prepare a place for us.

Humans are saved because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, not because we have earned or deserved it.

The Holy Spirit creates faith and strengthens it through God’s Word, and the sacraments of baptism and holy communion.

Christians practice their faith by confessing their faith. We confess our faith by preaching and teaching God’s inspired Word found in the 66 books of the Bible, as it is expounded on in the three ecumenical creeds and the unaltered Augsburg Confession. We would love to take the opportunity to study God’s Word in greater depth with you. Please join us for worship or call pastor to meet one-on-one.

Our Pastor

Hello! My name is Luke Thomford. I’m 31 years old, and grew up in Minnesota and Michigan. I recently graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Wisconsin, and was assigned to serve here at St. Paul’s in May of 2021. I enjoy golfing, weightlifting, and snowboarding. I’ve enjoyed living here in the Quad Cities and I’m excited to explore all the different ways I can help serve the community here in Moline.
